Do you ever feel stuck with your life? Some things just feel hard and feel impossible to change, don’t they? You may feel like you are hitting a brick wall no matter what you try? I have been there! Oh, how I have been there! But guess what? I have actually found something that works! Wanna know what it is?
One simple word…
Prayer
You are probably like “What??? Prayer? Really??? Isn’t that the most boring thing ever where you sit on your knees for what seems forever and ramble off a list of the things you want to confess or for the things you want?”
Actually, it’s not my friend! I mean it can be if you want it to, but I guarantee you will continue to feel hopeless in your situation and bored. Prayer can actually be one of the most exciting and super effective things you could ever do!

What is prayer?
God desires a relationship with us
He actually created you for a purpose and a plan, and most of all He created you because He loves you and wants to spend time with you! He waits and calls us until we finally answer! Imagine how disappointed He is when we don’t come to Him!
Think of the person you feel safest with and are excited to share everything with. This is the relationship the Lord wants to have with you, but even closer and even more beautiful. We actually have the freedom to come into His presence any time. He will never be too busy or put you on hold or disapoint. He is always waiting, always calling, and craves to be first on our list we come to when we are joyful, discouraged or need help with something.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Ephesians 6:18
We have a very real enemy to defeat
Yep, much like every superhero movie out there. There is a bad guy who comes to steal, kill and destroy. Our very real-life enemy satan hates that he has been defeated by God and seeks to take everyone down possible with him. Especially the ones who would be the biggest threat to his sinister plans.
So when we pray, we are actually embarking on a very real battlefield that we cannot see! That’s why when we pray for something, we need to press in and go into battle, speaking scripture out loud with authority for what we need to be done. We are the Lord’s army, fighting for Gods plan and purpose to prevail in our lives and in the lives of those around us!
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms
Ephesians 6:12
God wants us to ask
Our heavenly Father wants us to come to Him with our requests, hopes, dreams, and needs. If you, as a Mother or Father of your own children, did everything for your kids before they asked, they would never grow! We want our kids to learn to ask for help when they need it, and not wait for us to bring it to them on a silver platter. Why? Because we know it wouldn’t help them grow or develop their character. They would grow up to become selfish and demanding if they got everything they wanted before they asked.
Wanting the best for our children; we desire our kids to ask for what they need so we can help them work through it. God wants us even better for us. So just ask! He is waiting to help you!
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:9-11
God wants us to honor Him
He is God after all! When we spend time in prayer and worship, enjoying the presence of God, we feel His beautiful presence come over us. It can also quickly break us out of those grumpy and selfish moments we have, and helps bring us to a place of freedom, joy, and thanksgiving for what we have been so blessed with! So give Him your worship through prayer! Worship helps takes our eyes off of our circumstances and onto the one that is our reason for everything we do!
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
1 Chronicles 16:11
We find forgiveness when we pray
We are not perfect people (as much as we would like to think we are;)) But when we come into the Lord’s presence, we become more and more like Him, reflecting His glory. His Holy Spirit lives in us! Did you know that when we give you give your life over to Him, He comes and lives in you, just like He used to reside in the temple before He came and died on the cross for us? That’s why we don’t need temples anymore because He actually lives in us! Jesus paid for our debt of wrongs on the cross so we can come into His presence anytime! Because of this, we can to come to Him, confessing when we are struggling with sin or ask for forgiveness when we didn’t handle things right. Through confession, we find freedom and healing. He also shows us how we can be obedient to make things right, so we can make better choices in the future!
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
Prayer isn’t easy, my friend! It is actually hard work! But it is the most effective way to move those stubborn mountains in your life! How do I know? Because I have learned the hard way my need for God to intervene on my behalf.
Years ago, my husband and I were only married a few short years before our marriage felt hopeless. We had our two little girlies at this point. Though everything in me said this is too hard, I still wanted to fight for the beautiful family we had together, and I really did love this man I was married to. I just didn’t know what to do to fix it. Everything I tried was not working! So after complaining to my sister over and over again, she said the same answer every time. “Go get a Power of a Praying Wife!” So, finally, after about the third time she suggested this, I reluctantly did, feeling frustrated on why this book would fix anything? I just wanted her sympathy for
Yes, this book has been amazing and life-changing, but mostly because it teaches you how to pray out loud and with authority for our impossible circumstances. Giving the Lord the opportunity to move mountains on our behalf.
Sometimes our prayers take years to
Storms may happen and sometimes they don’t always end the way we want, but God is always doing a mighty work when we commit our lives and plans to Him. He is faithful to do what He knows is best for us. I could honestly be here for days telling you of
I encourage you to try it! Spend time confessing your heart and giving God the worship while praying for what you need, and see what happens! God has good plans in store for you, friend!
