Do you ever feel like you are just getting to a place of victory in your life and then, wham! Something happens unexpectedly to turn you on your head?
I sure get that! I feel a sense of new in my life at the moment. Like I am on the brink of something amazing opening up, and wow, I feel like I have experienced some opposition getting there. I pray I can continue to fight through to victory, as it can be so easy to want to fall back to old habits and feelings as things get hard.
Boy, oh boy, if we can just push through those old thought patterns, joy is just on the other side, my friend! I have seen such beauty and blessing come out of some of the hardest times of my life when I have
It always seems easier to give up and run away in those tough moments. It may even seem right at the moment. But as there will be
Don’t you think the Israelites wanted to give up as they traversed through the desert for 40 years? They questioned constantly, “Why did you take us out of slavery God? We want to go back! This is too hard!”
God had promised them freedom and beautiful land to settle in, they just needed to lean on God’s promises, not give up. He will always fulfill His promises when we trust Him!
It’s almost like a picture of working out. Do you know that point of wanting to give up and go eat ice cream or a cheeseburger instead? But you know if you just push through and do the hard work, while keeping up the consistancy to fight for the goal of being healthy, you will end up feeling much better instead of feeling guilty, tired, and anxious in the end?
You may be going through something really big right now but good things are coming, my friend. Just do the hard work to fight for what the Lord has promised you for today!
It’s a new day
After spending time in much prayer last month, I am feeling like the Lord is showing me a picture of when the Israelites were walking into the promised land. They finally walked into the promises God had given them after walking through the desert for 40 years. Its time for a new day. It’s time to walk into the promises the Lord has been preparing you for. And nothing, absolutly nothing will be wasted if you trust the Lord through this process.
The fight
I feel like when we are walking into freedom, the enemy sure likes to make sure we don’t succeed. Why? We beome a threat to his plans when we are faithful to the Lord. He wants to keep us in bondage and slavery (like the Israelites were in slavery by the Egyptians for over 400 years). If we are not careful, we can quickly end up back in bondage and sometimes even worse than where we were before. But no more my friend! No more! I am feeling the call God has something more in store for us and it’s time to claim back the promises of the Lord. Its time to fight for your promised land!
The promised land
After 40 years of wondering the desert, Joshua was used by the Lord to bring the Israelites into their promised land. The Lord spoke to Joshua as they entered this land…
“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:6-9 NLT
I feel we too are walking into our promised land finally after many years of walking through the desert.
It’s only in Gods timing and strength we can do anything. It took much faith, obedience, and action to receive their promised land. This can only happen if we stay in the word of God. This is where we find freedom, and peace. Our faith and obeidence builds as we see God’s promises unfold before us. The word of the Lord is our sword in battle. Speak it outloud in prayer, claim His promises and you will begin to find the freedom and victory the Lord has for you.
When the Israelites came into the promised land, they were told to be bold and courageous and fight to claim their promise. So I feel it’s time friend. It’s time to claim back what has been promised to you.
When you live out your calling and obedience And He promised ‘The Lord your God is giving you rest (peace) and will give you this land [east of the Jordan].’ joshua 1:12
What has been your greatest area of opposition? Usually the most strongest area of opposition where the enemy has tried to defeat you, is our greatest area of ministry! What do you feel is your promised land? How can you push through to recieve the blessings the Lord has promised for your life?
