Easter is on its way! How do you celebrate Easter in your home? I love the feeling of this time of year. Easter always reminds me of eating fresh paska that grandma made with sprinkles on top, fun Easter egg hunts, and family gatherings in the sunshine. What is your favorite part of this Spring Holiday?
Here are few ways to get ready for your Easter celebrations
1. Decorate
Whether you celebrate Christ, or the Easter bunny… or both, here are some fun ways to decorate your home without spending a lot of money or taking up a lot of space in your home.

Eggs and florals
I love this idea so much! With sprigs of florals from the dollar store or fresh cuttings of greenery along with some colored eggs (also can be found or painted from the dollar store) in a clear vase, and you have the perfect centerpiece or mantel decor.
Signs
Whether from Etsy, or the dollar store or just some chalkboard art, signs are a perfect way to decorate our home for Easter.

2. Dinner
Set the table
- Place the table cloth on your dining table
- Add your placemats and napkins
- Decorate your table with a centerpiece. I prefer to use something fresh and low for dinners so you can easily see the people across the table without having to move it out of the way for dining.
4. Top it off with your plates, glasses and cutlery and done! Ok… so you still have to make the meal too… but hopefully you have help by making it potluck style if you have guests joining you.
Paska
Now, Paska is a tradition we made every Easter growing up. This sweet and citrusy flavored bread makes the perfect accompaniment to your Easter ham. This is totally a Mennonite tradition. This recipe below is my absolute fav one I have ever tried. Even better than Grandma’s! (but don’t tell her!;))

Passover
We have managed to celebrate the Passover a few times as a family and hope to continue this tradition. It’s a nice change from the traditional turkey or ham I grew up eating for Easter. I love getting back to the roots of how Jesus celebrated this special time. Ok, so we are not Jewish, but this is actually what Jesus did with His disciples right before His death (and resurrection!). This meal is actually quite fun to do as a family. You go through each item of food together and what they meant in reference to God saving the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. And if you’re a believer, it’s a great reminder of how it intertwines with how Jesus was the perfect sacrificial lamb.

3. Heart
Lent
This time of the year can be a pivotal time of year for believers where we celebrate life through Christ. He died a death of a criminal even though He was without sin, to be the ultimate sacrifice so those who trust in Him as their Lord and Savior can have life eternal. He died so that we can have life eternal with Him in Heaven! What a victory!
Because God is perfect and we are full of sin, in order to come into the presence of God, we have to be washed clean. By giving our life to Jesus, He washes us clean of sin as He was the ultimate pure sacrifice we can come into the presence and relationship with God. What a victory this is! That Jesus died and rose again for me to have life eternal? Amazing isn’t it?
Life is temporary here on this earth, but life eternal in the presence of our Mighty King in Heaven is such a promise of freedom in this shaking broken world we live in. This world is not our home. I look forward to the day I actually get to dine with Him, but while here on earth, we can invite Him into our homes and our hearts. To spend time in His presence daily and allow Him to transform our hearts to reflect His glory through prayer, worship, and reading His word the bible. When we worship with other believers, our souls are set on fire too. So I encourage you to be a part of a small group to worship together if church is not an option where you live. Either way, this is the Acts church in the bible. Worshiping and sharing our hearts together in prayer and conversation while eating together. More on this in my YouTube video here. And guess what? There is nothing you have done that can’t be forgiven and redeemed… because our Redeemer lives! He is the only God who has sacrificed His life so you can have life in Him.

Well, Friends, I pray you have a lovely Easter and make time to worship and celebrate with the ones you love and reach out to those in need during this season. I pray the Lord touches your heart with a new revelation of His amazing grace and love and mercy. That His great love pour out over you in this season of revelation and awaking to His truth, in Jesus mighty name!
