If your a chocolate lover like I am, you will love the rich creaminess that is this dessert! You can vary it so much as well depending on your mood or what your preferences are.
Our kids were gone for the weekend (yes that is a very rare occasion when you have 4 teenagers. It is not so easy to dump them on mom and dad at that age anymore, lol!) and I was craving this chocolate truffle bar that I love so much, but I only know of 2 places that carry it, one being a restaurant, and one grocery store that was already closed. So, I threw what we had together kicking around in the house (thankfully the whipping cream was already made) and this yummy dessert came it life! And wow was it good!!!
I love these chocolate desserts because I can make them in individual ramekins, so they are small enough for portion control and they just look prettier, don’t you think?
CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE DESSERT
AN EASY, RICH, CREAMY CHOCOLATE DESSERT TO FILL THOSE CHOCOLATE CRAVINGS
- 1/4 Cup Melted butter
- 1 1/4 Cup Oreo Crumbs
- 2 1/2 Cups Whipping cream prepared
- 2 Cups Chocolate chips (Melt by popping in microwave for 30 secs, stir, melt another 30 secs and stir, repeat until almost melted and stir until they melt completely)
Melt butter and mix into chocolate cookie crumbs in a small bowl. Distribute evenly between small ramekins, dessert bowls, or a pie plate and press down until flat crust forms
Making sure your crumbs are prepared first (the chocolate truffle mixture sets quite quickly) In a separate bowl, (Set aside remaining whipping cream for later) gently hand mix together 2 cups of your prepared whipping cream and melted chocolate chips until well blended. This should look like icing when your done. Feel free to add more whipping cream to your taste as well depending on how rich or fluffy you prefer your dessert.
Distribute on top of cookie crumb base evenly between your small dessert bowls and level out.
Pop into the fridge (or freezer if your impatient like me!) until set. It should be somewhat slightly firm and cold.
Top with small amount of set aside whipping cream and top with whatever toppings you enjoy. Scor bits, fresh raspberries, shaved chocolate… and enjoy!!!
Makes around 4-5 individual desserts (makes more if you use smaller cups, but you may not want to;))
